Chicago, August 24 — Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in Chicago on the final day of the Democratic National Convention, demanding an end to US support for Israel. The protest, reported by the Associated Press on Friday, highlighted widespread opposition to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The protest took place on Thursday as demonstrators filled the streets of Chicago, voicing their frustration over the continued US military support for Israel amid its campaign in Gaza, which has been ongoing for more than ten months. Protesters called for an immediate cessation of US arms and ammunition support to Israel, citing the ongoing humanitarian crisis and alleged brutalities against Palestinians.

The Democratic National Convention, which began on Monday, saw Kamala Harris nominated as a presidential candidate for the upcoming US elections. From the outset of the convention, large crowds of Americans made their stance on the conflict clear by demonstrating outside the convention hall in support of Palestinian rights.

Hatim Abudayeh, a spokesman for the coalition and one of the coordinators of the US-Palestinian protests, emphasized the widespread call for change in US foreign policy regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
