Rupganj,  Dec 19 (V7N) — A fire broke out early Thursday morning at DAK Textile, a garment factory located in the Bhaela area of Bhulta Union in Rupganj Upazila, Narayanganj. The blaze destroyed machinery, cotton, and yarn stored inside the factory.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. while the factory was operational. According to Mahfuzur Rahman, Inspector of the Kanchan Fire Service Warehouse, the fire started in one of the machines and quickly spread throughout the premises. Workers evacuated the building promptly, and no casualties were reported.

Upon receiving the alert, two units of the Kanchan Fire Service responded to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control after about an hour of intense effort.

Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman stated that the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be determined after a thorough investigation.

This is not the first fire incident at the DAK Textile factory. On the night of November 27, a fire caused by an electrical short circuit caused significant damage to the facility. At that time, four fire service units worked for over an hour and a half to control the flames.

Authorities are expected to take further measures to ensure the safety of workers and prevent future incidents.
