Ukhiya, Feb 14, (V7N) - A Rohingya youth named Raihan died after receiving an electric shock while working on the annual meeting preparations at the Tumbru North Para Jam-e-Mosque in Ghumdhum Union, Bandarban's Naikhyongchhari Upazila.
The tragic incident occurred around 8 AM on Thursday, February 13, when Raihan, while hanging a microphone wire for the mosque's annual gathering, was electrocuted. Eyewitnesses reported that he was immediately shocked and fell to the ground after three jerks.
Several people present at the mosque rushed to rescue him and took him to the Kutupalong MSF Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. Raihan, aged 18, was from Kutupalong Khulu Mia's family in the 9th Ward of Rajapalong Union, Ukhiya.
