In a startling incident, a microbus erupted into flames on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, directly in front of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport earlier today.
 
According to Rozina Akhtar, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters control room, the fire broke out due to overheating of the microbus's engine at approximately 12:10 pm local time.
 
Swift action followed as two firefighting units from the nearby Airport station rushed to the scene, managing to extinguish the flames by 12:40 pm noon.
 
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident, providing a sigh of relief amidst the tense situation.
 
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire as commuters and travelers in the vicinity remain on high alert.
