Squash has been cultivated on one bigha of land by Ziaul Haque, a vegetable farmer from Gangni upazila in the Meherpur district. With free squash seeds, mulching paper, and guidance from Palashipara Samaj Kalyan Samiti, a private NGO in Mehepur, he began growing squash as a foreign crop.

Additionally, exporting from SBG overseas for marketing purposes is a possibility.
This year, four acres of land in the Meherpur district have been planted with squash, based on calculations made by the local agricultural department.
