In a bid to bolster Aush paddy cultivation in Gopalganj's Sadar upazila, 1,000 small and marginal farmers received a much-needed boost through the distribution of seeds and fertilizers free of cost. The initiative, orchestrated under an agricultural incentive program, aims to encourage farmer participation and enhance interest in Aush paddy cultivation during the current Kharif-1 season.

Led by the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), the distribution event was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Director Sanjay Kumar Kundu, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohsin Uddin presiding over the ceremony held at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises. Notable officials including Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Mahfuza Akhter and Deputy Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Md Liakat Hossain graced the occasion, highlighting the collaborative effort to support local farmers.

Each of the 1,000 farmers was provided with five kilograms of Aush paddy seeds, along with 10 kilograms each of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer, enabling cultivation on one bigha of land. This comprehensive assistance aims to alleviate financial burdens and promote sustainable agricultural practices among smallholder farmers in the district.

The initiative marks a significant step towards agricultural development in Gopalganj, fostering resilience and prosperity within the farming community while contributing to the broader goal of ensuring food security and economic sustainability in the region.
