Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N)- Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus emphasized on Sunday that the Bangladesh Navy and Air Force have once again been established as symbols of trust and confidence among the people of Bangladesh. He highlighted the commitment of these forces in supporting the public during pivotal moments.

While inaugurating the Bangladesh Navy and Air Force Selection Board-2024 at the Air Force Headquarters, Prof. Yunus outlined that the board would consider officers of ranks captain, commander, and lieutenant commander in the Navy, and group captain, wing commander, and squadron leader in the Air Force for promotion.

The chief adviser stressed that promotions should be based on integrity, values, and leadership capabilities. He urged the selection board to prioritize officers who have exhibited exemplary leadership in military operations. Additionally, he paid homage to those who sacrificed their lives during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the War of Independence, noting that their sacrifices remain a point of national pride.

He instructed board members to evaluate candidates on professional expertise, leadership qualities, discipline, honesty, loyalty, and overall suitability for advancement.

Chief of the Navy Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan expressed appreciation for Prof. Yunus’s commitment to the inauguration, despite his busy schedule. After the ceremony, the chief adviser joined senior officers for a group photo, recorded his thoughts in the visitor’s book, and planted a sapling on the Air Force Headquarters grounds.
