Dhaka, Nov 12 (V7N)- The High Court has mandated swift and effective actions to curb the spread of dengue across Bangladesh, particularly in Dhaka.
The directive was issued by the bench comprising Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Mubina Asaf on Tuesday. Under this order, the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and both Dhaka city corporations must take immediate steps and submit a progress report within 30 days.
The court also advised forming a high-powered committee to create a sustainable strategy for dengue control, emphasizing the inclusion of experts in this team.
Additionally, a ruling was issued questioning why the authorities’ failure to control dengue should not be considered illegal. Barrister Mahin M Rahman, who filed the writ petition, represented the petitioner, seeking these directives to address the dengue crisis nationwide.
