Dhaka, Dec 22 (V7N) — The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 1,241 cases in a single day for violations of traffic laws in the capital. Many offenders were also fined during the drive, which took place on Saturday, December 21.
As part of the operation, 47 vehicles were impounded, and 32 others were scrapped for being unfit for the roads.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the DMP's Media and Public Relations Department shared the details of the drive, emphasizing that the campaign aims to maintain traffic discipline in Dhaka.
The DMP has assured citizens that such drives will continue regularly to ensure smoother traffic flow and enforce adherence to traffic laws in the metropolitan area.
