Rajshahi, Feb 10 (V7N) – Home Affairs and Agriculture Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has declared that Operation Devil Hunt will continue until the country is free from individuals causing disruption, emphasizing that no one from Raghabwal-Chunopunti will be spared in the operation.
Chowdhury made these remarks during a press briefing after a meeting with administrative officials from all districts of the Rajshahi Division on law and order issues. The briefing took place at the Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner's meeting room on Monday afternoon.
Operation Devil Hunt to Target 'Devils'
“The operation will target only those who are responsible for chaos and criminal activities,” said Chowdhury. “Law enforcement officials are not exempt either. The operation will continue until the country is completely free from these devilish elements.” He assured that no innocent person would be harmed in the operation, adding that measures have been put in place to prevent wrongful punishment.
Chowdhury also addressed concerns over false cases being filed, stating that legal action would be taken against those who file fraudulent complaints. "We have formed a high-level committee starting from the field level to ensure fair conduct," he said.
Price Control and Fertilizer Availability
The Advisor assured citizens that prices of daily necessities would remain manageable during Ramadan as the supply of essential items like pulses, chickpeas, dates, and oil was adequate. He also expressed concern over some unscrupulous businessmen trying to create an artificial crisis, urging the media's cooperation in identifying and taking action against them.
On the matter of fertilizer supply, Chowdhury confirmed that the country has no shortage of fertilizer. "Some dealers have tried to create an artificial shortage. We will take legal action against them," he said, emphasizing that there is ample stock available.
Security and Border Issues
The Advisor praised the people of Chapainawabganj for their support during the recent Indian border tensions, expressing satisfaction with the role played by local communities in managing the situation. However, he cautioned against taking the law into their own hands, urging everyone to respect legal processes.
Chowdhury also addressed media concerns, stating that despite Indian media spreading rumors about the border situation, Bangladeshi media successfully countered the misinformation.

The meeting was attended by key officials including IGP Baharul Alam, Brigadier General Sheikh Marufur Rahman (Brigade Commander of the Army's 11th Infantry Division), Colonel Imran Ibne Rouf (BGB Sector Commander), Major Masud Haider (RAB-5 Commander), and Divisional Commissioner Khandaker Azim Ahmed, among others.
