Sylhet, Feb 26 (V7N)- Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain has assured that there will be no shortage of soybean oil during Ramadan, citing discussions with the Ministry of Commerce.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday (Feb 26) after a seminar organized by the Islamic Foundation at the Divisional Commissioner’s conference room in Alampur, Sylhet, he also emphasized strict market monitoring to control price hikes.
Mobile courts will operate to prevent price manipulation.
The government will ensure affordability of daily necessities, especially for low-income groups.
Businessmen have been urged to keep essential goods at reasonable prices during Ramadan.
The event, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza Un Nabi, was attended by DIG of Police Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and officials from the administration and Islamic Foundation.
Speakers also emphasized the role of imams in protecting the biodiversity of the haor area.
