Dhaka, Mar 26 (V7N) – On the occasion of Independence and National Day, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Md. Khoda Bakhas Chowdhury, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam paid deep tribute to the police members who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War of 1971.
The tribute ceremony took place at 8:00 AM on Wednesday (March 26) at the Police Memorial in Rajarbagh Police Lines, Dhaka. Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) and Md. Khoda Bakhas Chowdhury led the tribute by laying floral wreaths in honor of the fallen heroes.
They were joined by IGP Baharul Alam, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, and RAB Director General A. K. M. Shahidur Rahman. A well-equipped police team rendered a guard of honor, followed by a bugle performance of a solemn tune to pay respects to the martyrs.
Later, IGP Baharul Alam placed another wreath at the Police Memorial, followed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, Bangladesh Police Service Association President and Additional IGP (Administration) Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh, and leaders of the Bangladesh Police Women Network (BPWN), who also paid homage to the martyred police officers.
