Due to a decrease in passengers and security concerns, the Bangladesh Railway halted 32 trains operating on Sunday and Monday to various locations throughout the nation.

After seeing the burnt-out Benapole Express coaches at Kamalapur Railway Station on Saturday, Md. Kamrul Ahsan, the director general of Bangladesh Railway, informed media.

"On these two days, we are not operating 20 trains in the eastern region and 12 trains in the western region. All trains save these will run for the time being," he stated.

He also mentioned that the decision to rearrange the security measures had been made.

A seven-person committee has been established, according to the official, to look into the Benapole Express fire incident. "Police and other agency personnel are investigating the matter as well," he stated.

According to the director general, Friday's arson appeared to be a sabotage attempt. But they would have to wait until the end.

Regarding the damage, he said that the train's power car had partially burned and that two of the coaches were completely destroyed. After additional cleaning, the damage's degree will become more apparent.

"We are attempting to stop railway sabotage. He stated that attempts are on to obtain CCTV footage from several stations as well as within the train.

The Mohanganj Express train now has CCTV cameras installed, the spokesman added. All trains will eventually have CCTV cameras installed.
