Rome, Apr 27 (V7N) — Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, met with Uruguayan Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin at his hotel in Rome on Saturday, following their attendance at the funeral of Pope Francis at St. Peter's Square, Vatican City.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the current global trade situation and the need to strengthen cooperation between Latin America and Asia.
Foreign Minister Lubetkin emphasized the importance of expanding trade and investment ties between Uruguay and Bangladesh. He also called for enhanced economic cooperation between Dhaka and the Mercosur member countries to drive prosperity on both sides.
Professor Yunus and Minister Lubetkin further explored strategies to promote youth investment and advance social business initiatives. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to achieving the "three zeros" — zero unemployment, zero wealth accumulation, and zero net carbon emissions — to foster a more equitable and sustainable future.
