Dhaka, May 29 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam has praised the enhanced efficiency and global reputation of Bangladesh’s peacekeeping forces since the interim government assumed office. He made the remarks while addressing participants at the "Peacekeeper's Run" held in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Thursday morning to mark International UN Peacekeeping Day.
"The peacekeeping force has become more efficient and is working to ensure global security under the leadership of the interim government," said the advisor. He highlighted the professionalism, bravery, and dedication of Bangladeshi peacekeepers deployed around the world.
The advisor commended the army, navy, air force, and police for earning international acclaim through their service in various UN peacekeeping missions. "Their concentration and courage are recognized across the globe," he said.
He also emphasized the notable progress Bangladesh has made in providing engineering and logistical support in crisis zones, adding that the increasing participation and achievements of women peacekeepers have brought great honor to the country.
Bangladesh remains one of the top contributors to UN peacekeeping missions, and officials say the country’s role is becoming increasingly diverse and strategic.
