Dhaka, June 15 (V7N) — The arrival of Ashadh, the first month of the monsoon, was celebrated with vibrant festivities at the Nazrul Mancha of Bangla Academy on Sunday (June 15).
The day-long festival began in the morning with a musical tribute to nature, welcoming the monsoon with stories, songs, and dances centered around rain. The annual ‘Rain Festival’ (Borsha Utsab) is organized to emphasize the need to protect life and nature from destruction.
Speaking about the significance of the event, the organizers said that the core aim of Udichi’s Monsoon Festival is to reflect the joys and struggles of the country’s working-class people. In an agrarian society like Bangladesh, the monsoon plays a vital role in sustaining livelihoods, especially for farmers and rural workers.
Through music and dance, the festival voiced a call for the protection of life, nature, and the rights of working people — capturing the spirit, emotions, and beauty of the rainy season.
