Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged individuals and organizations to prioritize standing beside the common people during Ramadan instead of hosting lavish iftar parties. She emphasized this appeal during a Cabinet meeting held at her office in the city, chaired by herself.

Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain, briefing reporters after the meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat, highlighted the Prime Minister's call to refrain from arranging iftar parties and instead use resources to support those in need. She emphasized standing by the people according to one's capacity, particularly urging those eager to spend on iftar parties to redirect those funds towards assisting the common people.

Additionally, Sheikh Hasina issued two specific directives to the concerned authorities. Firstly, she instructed the Agriculture Ministry and the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division to focus on developing agriculture-based cooperatives, aligning with the vision of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Secondly, she emphasized the construction of modern preservation storages across the country's eight divisions to preserve agricultural goods effectively.

The modern preservation storages, equipped with separate chambers for different agricultural products, aim to mitigate unusual price hikes and ensure a consistent supply of goods in the market during off-seasons, as per the directives of the Prime Minister.
