Dhaka, Sep 09 (V7N) – Voting in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections is proceeding smoothly, and Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury reported that he has not received any complaints regarding the process. He expressed confidence that the elections will be conducted successfully.

Speaking after the 13th meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order on Tuesday, Lt. Gen. Chowdhury said that while it would not be accurate to compare student union elections with national polls, the DUCSU elections could serve as a model for future elections.

He added that the current law and order situation in Bangladesh is strong, and he expects no obstacles in conducting the national election.

During the meeting, preparations for national and student union elections, as well as issues related to theft, robbery, and drug control, were discussed. Lt. Gen. Chowdhury noted that while drug inflow has increased, enforcement agencies are seizing more drugs than before.
