Dhaka, Nov 01 (V7N)- The price of gold has been reduced once again in the country’s market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decreased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,613 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk 2,09,096.

The organization announced the price adjustment in a press release on Thursday night (October 30). The new rates came into effect from Friday (October 31).

According to the revised prices,

  • 22-carat gold is now Tk 2,09,096 per bhori,

  • 21-carat gold is Tk 1,90,998,

  • 18-carat gold is Tk 1,63,716, and

  • Traditional gold is Tk 1,36,014 per bhori.

However, despite the reduction in gold prices, the price of silver has remained unchanged. A 22-carat silver bhori is being sold at Tk 4,246, 21-carat at Tk 4,047, 18-carat at Tk 3,476, and traditional silver at Tk 2,601 per bhori.

BAJUS also stated that the government-fixed 5 percent VAT and a minimum making charge of 6 percent must be added to the selling price. The final cost may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewelry.
