The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thundershowers in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am on Sunday.

According to a bulletin issued by the BMD, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely in one or two places across Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.

Day and night temperatures are anticipated to rise by 1-2°C across the country during this period.

Tariful Islam Newaz, a meteorologist at the BMD, reported that Dhaka experienced 28mm of rainfall over a six-hour period from 12 am to 6 am. He also mentioned that Dhaka may continue to experience rain in the next 24 hours, beginning from 9 am. The highest rainfall of 63mm was recorded in Nikli, Kishoreganj, over a 24-hour period until 6 am on Sunday.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Saturday was 33.8 degrees Celsius, observed in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, and Mongla, Khulna, respectively.
