Barisal, Nov 16 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has confirmed that all security forces are fully prepared ahead of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) verdict scheduled for Monday in the case of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two others regarding crimes against humanity during the July-August mass uprising.
The announcement came after the advisor inspected the Barisal District Police Lines and met with top officials of law enforcement agencies and the field administration on Sunday afternoon (November 16).
He said that the law and order situation across the country is “fairly satisfactory.” While emphasizing the importance of the Election Commission and political parties in ensuring peaceful elections, he added, “If the people are election-oriented, no one can stop them.”
Regarding the Nathullabad incident in Barisal, he stated that both sides will engage in dialogue to resolve the issue, with law enforcement agencies remaining vigilant to prevent any escalation.
