Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) — Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmeen S. Murshid has emphasized that political parties must be held accountable for their policies on women before assuming power.

She made the remarks at a national dialogue against gender-based violence, organized by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at a hotel in Dhaka on Wednesday morning. Murshid said that women struggle to enter the mainstream because political parties often maintain separate women’s wings instead of integrating women fully into decision-making.

At the event, Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, Fellow at the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), highlighted that political manifestos should clearly outline measures for the protection and security of women.

The event also introduced plans for a Reform Tracker app, which will allow citizens to track the implementation status of reform proposals digitally, providing transparency and accountability.
