Dhaka, Jan 17 (V7N) — Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain has alleged that huge amounts of money were laundered and looted from the country through accounting fraud over the last 15 years, severely harming the national economy.
He made the remarks on Saturday (January 17) while speaking at the ‘SAFA International Conference’ held at a hotel in the capital.
Addressing the conference, the Foreign Affairs Advisor expressed optimism that the next generation of professionals would play a key role in steering the country’s economy back onto the right path by upholding honesty, accountability, and innovative capacity.
He also stressed the importance of regional cooperation, urging South Asian countries to work collectively to tackle growing global economic and geopolitical instability.
The main theme of this year’s conference is “Next Generation Professionals: Converging Ethical AI and Sustainability Reporting.” The event brought together professionals, policymakers, and experts from across the region to discuss emerging challenges and ethical responsibilities in the evolving global economy.
