Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that all law enforcement agencies have been instructed not to side with any political party in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.

He made the remarks after a meeting with senior officials of law enforcement agencies at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

The Home Affairs Advisor expressed optimism about the election, saying that this election will be better than any previous one. He issued a strong warning that no one will be spared if incidents such as ballot box looting occur on polling day — including members of law enforcement agencies and polling officers.

Referring to the recent killing of a Jamaat leader in Sherpur, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that utmost importance is being given to arresting those responsible. He assured that law enforcement agencies are actively working to bring the perpetrators to justice.

He also called on all political parties to remain patient and restrained to prevent any unpleasant incidents during the election period.

The meeting focused on ensuring law and order, maintaining neutrality of the administration, and guaranteeing a free, fair, and peaceful election, officials said.
