After holding the 23 crew members of the hijacked Bangladeshi cargo ship MV Abdullah captive for 32 days, Somali pirates have freed them, according to a representative of the ship's owner business.

The media was informed of the most recent update by KSRM Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Shahriar Jahan Rahat, who stated that the personnel and ship were freed following a successful conclusion of negotiations with the pirates.

He also said that all 23 crew members are safe, in excellent health, and have been able to get in touch with their families.

The ship belonged to KSRM Group and was hauling coal from Maputo, Mozambique, to Al Hamriyah, United Arab Emirates, when a group of Somali pirates took control of it on March 12.

The ship was its route to the port in the United Arab Emirates to offload cargo following its release.

In less than a week, the ship may arrive at the UAE port.
