In a vibrant display of cultural celebration, this year's Mangal Shobhayatra marked the Bengali New Year with fervor and enthusiasm. The procession, themed 'Amra to Timir Binashi', commenced from the Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University and wound its way through the city streets, culminating at TSC.

Thousands of people from all walks of life gathered at the fine arts area, setting aside differences of religion, caste, and class to embrace the spirit of unity and harmony. Led by ASM Maqsood Kamal, the procession saw the participation of esteemed figures including Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Dipu Moni, Social Welfare Minister, and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam.

The procession showcased various aspects of Bengal's rich history and heritage, featuring masks, owls, horses, idols, and intricately crafted puppets and portraits. It served as a testament to the enduring cultural traditions that define Bangladesh.

Initiated by the Institute of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, the Mangal Shobhayatra holds special significance, having been recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage in 2016. Since its inception in 1989, the festival has become an integral part of Bengali New Year celebrations, embodying the spirit of joy and unity among the people.
