Shib Narayan Das, renowned for his contribution as one of the designers of Bangladesh's first flag and his role as a freedom fighter, was honored with tributes from people of all backgrounds at the central Shaheed Minar.

Beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, a guard of honor was presented by the district administration as Shib Narayan Das's body arrived at the central Shaheed Minar. Until noon, representatives from various cultural organizations and institutions paid their respects by laying wreaths upon his coffin.

Shib Narayan Das passed away at 9:25 am on Friday in the ICU of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital at the age of 78. His family informed that his eyes were donated to “Sandhani,” and his body will be donated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Following the tribute ceremony at Shaheed Minar, Shib Narayan Das's body will be transported to his village in Comilla. Subsequently, it will be handed over to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the afternoon to fulfill his wishes of contributing to medical education and research.

Arnab Aditya Das, the son of Shib Narayan Das, reflected on his father's principles, emphasizing his unwavering stance against injustice, corruption, and falsehoods. He highlighted his father's commitment to the ideals of the Liberation War and non-communal politics.
