The Bangladeshi-flagged cargo vessel MV Abdullah, which was recently released by Somali pirates after 32 days in captivity following the payment of ransom, is set to dock at Al Hamriya Port in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday evening, bringing relief to its crew of 23 sailors.

According to SR Shipping Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mehrul Karim, the vessel is scheduled to arrive at Al Hamriya Port around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The MV Abdullah was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean on March 12. After weeks of negotiations and the payment of ransom, the ship was finally released in the early hours of April 14.

This incident recalls the plight of another ship from the KSRM Group, the MV Jahan Mani, which was hijacked by Somali pirates in 2010. The MV Jahan Mani endured a 99-day ordeal before it was successfully rescued.
