Bangladesh Railway (BR) will commence the sale of advance train tickets from June 2 in anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. All tickets will be sold online, as announced by Railways Minister Md Zilul Hakim during a press conference at the railway ministry today.

"Tickets for all inter-city trains will be available online starting June 2, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, which is expected to be celebrated on July 17 in Bangladesh," said Minister Zilul Hakim. This announcement followed a meeting focused on ensuring the safe travel of passengers during the Eid holidays.

The schedule for advance ticket sales is as follows:
- Tickets for June 12 will be sold on June 2.
- Tickets for June 13, 14, 15, and 16 will be available on June 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively.

Advance return tickets will be available starting June 10:
- Tickets for June 20 will be sold on June 10.
- Return tickets for June 21, 22, 23, and 24 will be available on June 11, 12, 13, and 14 respectively.

The sale of tickets for trains bound for the western zone will start at 8:00 am, while tickets for east-bound trains will be available from 2:00 pm.

A total of 33,500 tickets for intercity trains will be sold for Eid-ul-Azha. In addition, standing tickets for 25 percent of the total general class seats will be available at station counters.

The press conference was attended by Railways Ministry Secretary Dr. Md Humayun Kabir, BR Director General Sardar Sahadat Ali, and Additional Director General (Infrastructure) Md Arifuzzaman, among others.
