The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by gusty winds in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9am on Monday.

Light to moderate rain with temporary gusty winds is expected in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and a few places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions, with some areas experiencing moderately heavy to heavy rainfall, according to the BMD’s latest weather bulletin.

A mild heat wave is affecting Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, along with the districts of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Chandpur, Noakhali, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, and Barisal, but it may diminish in certain areas.

Day and night temperatures might see a slight decrease, the forecast added.

The highest temperature on Sunday was 37 degrees Celsius, recorded in Ishwardi, Tarash, and Sylhet, while the lowest on Monday was 23.5 degrees, recorded in Sylhet.

The highest rainfall in the 24 hours to 6am on Monday was 227mm in Sylhet.
