Dhaka, August 25 — For the fourth consecutive day, Ansar members have taken to the streets in Dhaka, demanding the nationalization of their jobs. The protesters have gathered around the Press Club and the Secretariat since Sunday morning, leading to the closure of roads around the Secretariat, High Court, and Press Club.

The protesting Ansar members claim they currently work on a contractual basis, receiving a daily wage of 540 taka as per the needs of various organizations. In addition, they receive ration facilities provided through the Ministry of Home Affairs on behalf of the forces. However, the agitators are demanding a permanent appointment to improve their job security and benefits.

In response to the protests, the Ministry of Home Affairs formed a seven-member committee on Saturday, August 24, to address the demands of the Ansar members. Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the committee's recommendations, which are expected within seven working days.
