Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N) — Intense traffic congestion has gripped Dhaka on Tuesday, with significant delays affecting commuters throughout the city. The situation has worsened as the day progressed, particularly impacting those traveling from the Parliament area to Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, and Bangla Motor.

The congestion is largely attributed to a large rally organized by Ulama Mashayekh Bangladesh, which has drawn thousands of attendees to Suhrawardy Udyan from across the country. Many participants traveled by bus, leading to a surge in vehicles parked along the roads surrounding the rally site.

Afzal, a bus driver from Gabtoli, expressed frustration over the delays, stating, “It took me an hour to get from Asad Avenue to Bangla Motor, whereas this route usually takes only 20 minutes.” His experience reflects the broader challenges faced by commuters navigating the congested streets.

A senior official from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed that a significant influx of vehicles from outside the city has exacerbated the traffic situation. With numerous buses parked in various locations, congestion has spread across different areas of Dhaka, causing further disruptions to daily travel.

Authorities are urging commuters to exercise patience and plan their routes accordingly as the city grapples with the ongoing traffic crisis.
