Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N)- Police have arrested ABM Mustafa Amin, the convener of the Non-Violent Mass Uprising Bangladesh, for allegedly attempting to gather large crowds in the capital with promises of interest-free loans. Shahbagh Police apprehended him on Monday afternoon following a public meeting.

Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Khalil Mansur confirmed the arrest and revealed that initial investigations suggest Mustafa Amin was enticing people from across the country to assemble in Shahbagh under false pretenses.

The organization, Non-Violent Mass Uprising Bangladesh, allegedly promised participants that funds laundered abroad would be returned to the country and distributed as loans of one lakh taka to each person. They encouraged mass participation by advertising a grand rally in Shahbagh, raising suspicions among authorities.

OC Mansur stated, "It has been initially proven that Mustafa Amin is involved in gathering people from various regions under false promises of interest-free loans. Such actions were creating concerns about destabilization in the capital."

Police believe the group’s activities could disrupt public order and mislead people with fraudulent claims. The arrest aims to prevent further escalation and protect public interests.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging citizens to remain cautious about such offers and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
