Dhaka, Feb 10 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast predominantly dry weather across the country over the next 72 hours, with a slight chance of light rain in the Sylhet division.

According to the forecast released at 9:00 AM on Monday, the extended part of the subcontinental high-pressure area is currently situated over Bihar and its surrounding regions, while the seasonal low-pressure system remains positioned over the southern Bay of Bengal.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 10.7°C in Tentulia, reflecting the lingering winter chill in the northern parts of Bangladesh.

Weather Outlook

  • Tuesday: The weather is expected to stay mostly dry across the country with temporarily partly cloudy skies. However, light rain may occur in one or two places in the Sylhet division.

  • Wednesday: Conditions will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. The Meteorological Department has warned of light to moderate fog from late night to early morning across various parts of the country. Both night and day temperatures are anticipated to rise slightly.

Extended Forecast

The five-day forecast indicates that temperatures might decrease slightly during the early part of the period, suggesting a brief return of cooler weather before warming trends resume.

Residents, particularly in northern regions, are advised to stay prepared for foggy conditions, while those in Sylhet should be aware of the slight chance of rain showers.
