Dhaka, Mar 16 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted temporary rain or thundershowers with gusty or squally winds at one or two places in the Sylhet division, along with the possibility of scattered hailstorms. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.

Weather Forecast (Next 72 Hours)

According to the BMD bulletin issued at 9 AM on Sunday (March 16):

The low-pressure system extends to West Bengal and adjacent areas.

The seasonal low-pressure area is over the South Bay of Bengal.

Day temperatures across the country are expected to remain unchanged, while night temperatures may see a slight decrease.

A mild heatwave is currently affecting Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Kushtia, and Rangamati. The BMD has stated that the heatwave is likely to continue.

Monday (March 17): The weather is expected to be mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Day temperatures may drop slightly, while night temperatures remain unchanged.

Tuesday (March 18): Similar weather conditions will persist, with dry and partly cloudy skies. Night temperatures will remain stable.

Extended Five-Day Forecast: There is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms in the later part of the forecast period.

Residents in heatwave-affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, while those in Sylhet division should be prepared for sporadic rain or thunderstorms.
