Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the advisor for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has implemented a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption within the Department of Environment and Forest. She emphasized that any officials involved in corruption, irregularities, or negligence related to environmental and forest conservation will face exemplary legal action.

During her visit to the Forest Department, Hasan highlighted the need for dedicated efforts to preserve and improve the country’s forests and environment. She also instructed the Wildlife Crime Control Unit to regularly monitor the Bird Market in Katabon, Dhaka, and enforce legal actions against illegal bird trade and cruelty towards birds.

In addition to her work with the Forest Department, Hasan also visited the Department of Environment earlier that day. She urged officials to take stringent measures against hill cutting and river pollution, and called for enhanced skills and visible actions to restore public confidence in environmental protection efforts.
