Dhaka, Oct 13 (V7N): A joint force has arrested 16 individuals for allegedly inciting unrest in the Ashulia industrial area of Savar, Dhaka.

Ashulia police confirmed the arrests, which took place late Saturday night across different locations in the area. The joint force, comprising police personnel, detained the individuals for their involvement in recent disturbances affecting several factories in the industrial zone.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia police station, Abu Bakar Siddique, said, "Due to the ongoing unrest in the garment sector, joint operations have been underway for several days. As a result, 16 people were apprehended yesterday. Two cases have been filed against them for destabilizing the garment sector and attacking workers. They have been sent to court."

According to law enforcement, criminal elements have been active in the Ashulia industrial area, engaging in disruptive activities such as vandalizing factories and assaulting workers to create instability. Joint force operations are continuing to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
