Ukhiya, Oct 02 (V7N) — In a special operation conducted by Ukhia Police Station in Cox's Bazar, 11 fugitive accused were arrested on Wednesday morning, including leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League. Among those arrested were seven prominent figures associated with political and union leadership.

The arrested individuals include:
1. Iqbal Bahar — Upazila Awami League leader and current member of Ward No. 8 of Rajapalong Union Parishad.
2. Shahidullah Kaychar — Secretary of Forest and Environment for Upazila Awami League.
3. Tarek Hossain Manik — Convener of Upazila Chhatra League.
4. Zamir Ahmad — Upazila Awami League leader.
5. Imam Hossain — President of Ukhia Upazila Jubo League.
6. Abdur Salam Madhu — Leader of the Union Awami League.
7. Abdullah Al Saymon — Leader of the Union Jubo League.

The police operation, led by Ukhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arif Hossain and OC (Investigation) Shafiqul Islam, focused on separate locations in Rajapalong and Jalia Palong unions of Ukhia. The arrests are linked to various ongoing cases.

Acting OC of Ukhia Police Station, Mohammad Arif Hossain, confirmed the arrests, stating that all individuals were fugitives with cases pending against them. Following their capture, the accused were sent to Cox's Bazar Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

This operation underscores the commitment of local law enforcement to apprehend those evading legal proceedings, regardless of their political affiliation.
