Dhaka, Oct 13 V7N - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted sporadic rain in certain parts of the country, although the overall weather is expected to remain mainly dry. According to the met office's prediction for the next 24 hours starting from 9 AM today, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in one or two places over the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere, the weather is likely to be predominantly dry with a partly cloudy sky.

The southwest monsoon has largely withdrawn from Bangladesh, except for the Chattogram region, and conditions are favorable for its further withdrawal from the rest of the country within the next 24 hours. Additionally, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the Southwest Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature recorded was 35.5 degrees Celsius at both Mongla and Khepupara, while the minimum temperature today was 23.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, up to 6 AM today, was 28 millimeters in Dhaka. Day and night temperatures are anticipated to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
