Kurigram Nov, 02- The largest celebration of Sri Sri Kali Puja took place at the Bhubaneswari Central Kali Temple in Anandnagar, Khagrachari. Additionally, festivities were organized at the Khagrachari Central Lakshmi Narayan Temple.
The two-day event began with the auspicious lighting of the sacrificial fire for Chandi Yajna, officially performed by Swami Tapanananda Giri Maharaj, the head of Shankar Math and Mission.
In the afternoon, a colorful procession was held, culminating in the invocation of the Ganges at the Chengi River. The celebrations also included the daily worship of the goddess, offerings of food, and distribution of prasadam. The night before, a religious gathering took place in the temple courtyard, featuring performances of Shyama, Baul, and Lalon music.
Kali Ma is worshiped every year on this day to dispel the inauspicious, as she is believed to take the form of Shyama and drive away evil when ominous signs appear in the world, bringing forth auspiciousness.
