Dec 05, (V7N) - A harmony rally was held in Tangail on December 5, under the slogan "Song of Sampriti Oikyatanne Gahi Samya," promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among all religious communities. The event, organized by Tangail District Police, took place at the Police Lines Multipurpose Shed at 11:30 am.

The rally aimed to foster mutual understanding and harmony among people of various faiths in the district. The assembly was chaired by Tangail Police Superintendent Md. Saiful Islam Santu and attended by key figures from different religious communities and organizations, including:

Md Abdur Razzak, Deputy Director of Islami Foundation Tangail.

Advocate Md Shafiqul Islam Ripon, Tangail Public Prosecutor.

Advocate Zafar Ahmed, President of Tangail Press Club.

Shyamal Hor, Trustee of the Hindu Religious Welfare Board.

Ramesh Chandra Sarkar, Assistant Director of the District Hindu Welfare Trust.

Abdullah Mamun, President of District Imam and Ulama Parishad.

Advocate John Jedra, General Secretary of Joyenshahi Tribal Development Council.

Sadhan Chandra Chakraborty, President of the Tangail District Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Unity Council.

Chittaranjan Sarkar and Pradeep Guna Jhantu, leaders of the Tangail District Puja Celebration Committee.

The event was also attended by police officers, religious leaders, Ulama-Mashaikhs, Imams, temple priests, and journalists from various media outlets.

Earlier in the day, a harmony rally was held, starting from the city's helipad premises and winding through important roads of Tangail before concluding at the Police Lines Multipurpose Shed. The rally saw participation from a wide range of people, including police officers, religious leaders, and community members from various professions. The Tangail District Police organized the event to promote a message of mutual cordiality and harmony among people of all religions and faiths in the district.
