Pabna, Feb 27, (V7N) - The grand finale of the Hifzul Quran competition took place in a simple setting in Chatmohar, Pabna. After the final round of the competition, nine winners were announced from three groups.

The competition, organized by the Chatmohar Sports Academy, was held on Wednesday, February 26, at the Upazila Parishad Hall.

The event was presided over by Hafiz Mawlana Nuruzzaman, President of the Chatmohar Ulama Parishad, with the Chief Guest being the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Musa Nasir Chowdhury. Special guests included Tauhidul Islam Taijul, convener of Chatmohar Sports Academy, and Hafiz Mawlana Altaf Hossain, the head of Bahadurpur Jamia Qoumiya Hafizia Orphanage Madrasa.

The organizers mentioned that the competition began on February 9. Initial rounds were held in the Chatmohar, Vangura, Faridpur, and Atghoria upazilas, where nearly 300 participants competed in categories of 5, 10, and 30 parahs (sections of the Quran). 35 finalists from the three groups participated in the grand finale, and nine winners were selected.

The chief judge of the competition was renowned Islamic scholar Hafiz Qari Mawlana Abu Zar Ghaffari, assisted by Hafiz Mawlana Hamidul Islam.

Tauhidul Islam Taijul, convener of the Chatmohar Sports Academy, said, "While we usually organize various social, cultural, and sports events, no one usually thinks about organizing events for Quran Hafiz. This is the second time we are organizing this event with the aim that the Hafiz from Pabna can raise Bangladesh’s flag higher on the world stage. After Eid, we will hold a grand event to award the winners."

Chatmohar UNO Musa Nasir Chowdhury stated, "The purpose is to spread the light of the Quran and build a beautiful society. Such an event is undoubtedly praiseworthy. The administration will always support such noble initiatives."
