Jhalokathi, Feb 27, (V7N) – In Rajapur, Jhalokathi, students held separate protests and human chains demanding the death penalty for rapists and justice for criminals, in response to increasing incidents of murder, rape, theft, and robbery across the country.

At 11 a.m. on Thursday, former and current students of Alhaj Lalmon Hamid Women’s College organized a human chain on the Barisal-Khulna regional highway. The protesting students called for the maximum punishment for rapists and urged the law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of female students.

Meanwhile, under the banner of "Rajapur Students and People," students and citizens held a human chain and protest rally. The rally marched through the main roads of the town and gathered in front of the Rajapur Police Station for the human chain. Speakers, Mostafizur Rahman and Sanjida Akter, demanded immediate public executions for rapists and called for the restoration of law and order. They warned that if the situation does not improve, students and citizens would once again take to the streets, as they did in July and August.
