Savar, Mar 07 (V7N) - A massive fire broke out at a Jhunt godown in Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka, prompting four units of DEPZ and Jirabo Fire Service to rush to the scene to contain the blaze.
The fire erupted at Md. Sharif's Jhunt godown in Rupayan Math area of Jamgarh, Ashulia, on Friday (March 7) afternoon, just before Jumma prayers.
According to DEPZ Fire Service, the fire started just before Jumma prayers. Upon receiving the news, two units from DEPZ Fire Service quickly arrived at the scene and started firefighting operations. However, due to the intensity of the fire, two additional units from Jirabo Fire Service were called in for reinforcement.
Speaking to AP, DEPZ Fire Service Senior Station Officer Pranab Chowdhury said:
"Upon receiving the fire alert, four units from DEPZ and Jirabo Fire Service were dispatched to the scene and are actively working to control the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. Further details will be provided once the situation is fully under control."
