RAJSHAHI, June 8, (V7N) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) successfully cleared all sacrificial animal waste well before dawn today, following the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.

"We aimed to complete the cleanup by morning, but it was done much earlier," RCC's Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun told BSS here today.

The operation commenced with door-to-door waste collection by 6:00 PM yesterday. The collected waste was then transferred to 28 secondary stations, and subsequently moved to the central landfill near the city hat by midnight.

A total of 1,394 workers were engaged in the extensive cleanup effort across all 30 city wards. The operation utilized 15 hydraulic trucks, six tractors with double trolleys, two stead rollers, two water tanks, and 400 vans.

To ensure hygiene and eliminate odors, bleaching powder and disinfectants were applied in the cleaned areas.

Mamun extended his gratitude to the city residents for their cooperation, noting a significant improvement in public awareness regarding waste management. He proudly stated, "Over 95 percent of areas are now clean and odor-free."
