Satkhira, Sep 27 (V7N) – Import and export activities through Bhomra Land Port in Satkhira will remain suspended for six consecutive days due to the upcoming autumn Durga Puja. However, passport-holder passenger movement through the immigration check post will continue as usual.

Customs Revenue Officer Satyaji Dewan confirmed that trade operations will remain closed from Sunday (Sept 28) to Thursday (Oct 2). Since Friday is a weekly holiday, normal import and export will resume on October 4. He noted that October 1 and 2 are already government holidays, while traders from both Bangladesh and India agreed to suspend trade for the remaining days of the Puja.

The Immigration Department of Bhomra Land Port said passenger movement between Bangladesh and India will continue normally from 7 am to 6 pm daily during the period.
