The newly elected president and general secretary of the Bangladesh Photojournalists Association Rajshahi branch, who emerged victorious in the biannual (2024–2025) elections, have been congratulated by the Rajshahi Union of Journalists (RUJ).
 
These felicitations and best wishes were sent in a joint statement by General Secretary Saifur Rahman Rocky and President Rafiqul Islam of RUJ on Saturday, April 27.
 
"RUJ congratulates those who have been elected to various positions including president and general secretary in the bi-annual elections of Bangladesh Photojournalist Association Rajshahi branch," the leaders stated in a statement of congratulations.
 
At the same time, the RUJ leaders anticipate that the organisation will advance under the direction of the recently elected leaders.
 
It should be mentioned that the Bangladesh Photojournalist Association Rajshahi Branch's biannual election (2024–2025) was held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the organization's office.
 
Photographer Samad Khan of newspaper Sunshine was chosen general secretary, while Rajshahi photojournalist Shariful Islam Tota of Daily Samakal and Indian newspaper Sonardesh was voted president.
 
In addition, Milan Sheikh, a photojournalist for Ajker Patrika, and Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, a photojournalist for the daily Rajshahi Sangbad newspaper, as well as the organisational and publicity editor, are jointly elected as finance editors. Shahin Khan and Ali Ehsan Tuhin, photojournalists for the daily Sonardesh newspaper, are jointly appointed as vice-presidents. 
 
Sohag Ali of the daily Muktkhabar newspaper is named as a joint general editor. The chosen candidate for the position is photojournalist Shamiul Islam Shamim of the Daily Aam Rajshahi newspaper.
