Rangamati , (12 June 2024)- Commenting on the frequent reports of human trafficking in the hills, District Administrator Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan of Rangamati has called for specific information to be provided to the police and administration to help combat the trafficking of women from the hills. During the monthly law and order meeting held in Rangamati on Wednesday, the District Administrator mentioned that such reports are received almost daily. He stated that several cases have already been filed concerning human trafficking and emphasized the seriousness of the issue. The District Administrator appealed to the people of Rangamati to provide precise information to the law enforcement agencies.

The law and order meeting, held at noon in the conference room of the District Administrator's office, was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Maruf Ahmed, additional district administrators, senior officials, representatives from various government institutions, war heroes, and media personnel.

The meeting discussed several issues, including controlling extortion at cattle markets ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, improving the law and order situation in Rangamati, keeping inmates in the district jail free from drugs, intensifying anti-drug operations, increasing border surveillance through the anti-smuggling task force, ensuring reliable electricity services, and taking action against illegal occupiers and smugglers. District Administrator Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan called on all relevant parties to take necessary measures to address these issues.
