Khulna, Aug 09 (V7N) - In Khulna, amid the current unrest, approximately 2,200 members of the Ansar and Village Defense Force (VDP) have been deployed to maintain security and manage traffic. Under the direction of Khulna Range Deputy Director General Shah Ahmad Fazle Rabi and Khulna District Commandant Md. Saifuddin, these forces are stationed at key locations including police stations, jails, and neighborhoods.

According to a press release from Ansar and VDP Khulna Range Office Public Relations Coordinator Md. Ismail Hossain, released on August 9, 900 Ansar members are on nighttime duty at crucial sites to prevent disturbances, theft, and robbery. Additionally, 118 Ansar and VDP members are managing traffic at 20 key points in Khulna city due to traffic system failures. The deployment also includes 50 members securing the local jail and 20 members assigned to the Koira and Fultala police stations.

Furthermore, Ansar battalion members are tasked with protecting the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's office and residence, the Deputy Commissioner's office and residence, as well as the Circuit House. On August 8, when unrest threatened the Khulna prison, Ansar patrol teams swiftly intervened to restore order at the request of the authorities.
