Rajshahi, Sep 25 (V7N) – The protesting teachers of Rajshahi University (RU) have announced the withdrawal of their shutdown program following verbal assurances from the Vice-Chancellor.

The decision was made on Thursday afternoon. The teachers stated that they withdrew the program to ensure normal and smooth educational activities, but emphasized that exemplary punishment must be ensured for those involved in the recent harassment incident as soon as possible.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Moktar Hossain, acting president of the RU Officers' Association, said that officers had also suspended their protest with a seven-day assurance from the administration. He warned that if their demands are not met within this period, strict programs will be resumed.
